Hey guys,
I'm trying to use torrents, but my machine, which is a computer running windows 7 64 bit, won't work.. I've tried Utorrent, and Bittorrent. The torrents just sit there, adn they' won't move. I tried it on my laptop, which is is a windows 32 bit, and the torrents work fine. My laptop is too slow though, that's why I can't just use my laptop.
My desktop has like 16 gigs of memory, and it's brand new. TOp line computer, and the torrents won't work. Any ideas on how I can get the torrents to work?
Sounds like either A, you have a firewall, or something else in place, or B, your client isn't configured correctlyy, orC, something about your network settings or router prevent this connection from working properly.
I can tell you how to configure it, but I'd need to know more information. Things like Are you using public or private trackers. To download legal content of course. lol
Probably my router or network.. I have other issues with this computer, like I can't connect to this game I'm trying to play. It's stupid though, I just got this computer in Febuary. I don't understand why there's something wrong with it. I'm behind a comcast Router.
Will the game also connect on the laptop, while not running on the desktop?
Oh, and do the torrent clients have the same default settings on both machines?
You might have to punch a whole in the firewall or configure your torrent client to a port that is already open. Look in the firewall settings of the router and see if the game you want to play is listed there.
The game does work on the laptop also. The torrent clients are both set the same way.
As far as looking at the firewall settings, I'm not sure how to do that in the router. I did look at the windows settings for the firewall, and I allowed the game through, but it still won't connect. I have no idea how to do it on the router though.
Leave those torrents alone with Comcast. They will report you because they monitor every little thing.
Well, I've had comcast since 2009, and haven't gotten caught yet. Watch me get caught now, lol. Thanks Lakeria.
That's why you force encryption, and make a few other changes to the client.
this is an interesting problem though.
Are both machines running the same version of windows?
My laptop is running a 32 bit version of windows 7 ultimate, and my desktop is the one with windows 7 64 bit.
Interesting, I thought they monitored all of that because of what a classmate of mine said, but maybe he wasn't all that smart. lol
